Meatballs in Tamato Sauce

Tomato Sauce

30ml cooking oil

2 large onions, thinly sliced

410gtin tomato puree

1tin water

10ml crushed garlic

5ml salt

2 green chillies, finely chopped

30ml sugar

4 cloves

4 peppercorns


500g steak mince

5ml white pepper

5ml salt

5ml crushed garlic

2,5ml grated nutmeg

¼cup breadcrumbs OR 2slices bread soaked in water



Heat oil in a large saucepan and braise onions until golden.
Add tomatoes, water and spices and simmer for 15minutes.
Stir in sugar till well blended and simmer for 5minutes.
Combine frikkadel ingredients and form balls.
Add to tomato mixture and cook for 15minutes.
Serve hot with white rice.
